Guoqing Gong (he/him) is a Ph.D. student in the Hydroclimatology Group. Born and raised in China, his love for nature inspired him to become an environmental science researcher. He is particularly interested in the attribution and impacts of extreme weather and climate events. His research has focused on investigating trends and mechanisms of drought, using a diverse skill set that includes statistical analysis and machine learning. He holds a MS from Southern University of Science and Technology, China, and a BE from Fujian Normal University, China.
